Evan’s 9th Birthday in Progreso, Yucatan

After talking about it for at least a full year, Evan finally turned 9!! What a great 9th birthday week(s) he had too. With visitors from Canada making his day very special: Grammy, Auntie Lisa, Cade, Kayla, and Jacob all helping share this momentous occasion!

Of course, like every day, the boys were off to school bright and early! Then at 10:30am we disrupted their classes for the pinata smashing and the “dirt & worms” which are now famous at the Montessori school with the children! Unfortunately the pinata was smashed rather quickly by Evan and barely made it a couple more children before we had to toss out the candy to everyone.

Then after school, a few of Evan’s classmates came over to our house for a pool party and cake! Thank you to everyone who brought gifts for Evan (and a couple for Noah too!). The kids played with the lego, the star wars guns, and of course swam in the pool throughout the afternoon before I let them retire to the room for some Minecraft!

Noah in a very momentous moment, pushed Auntie Lisa into the pool! After that it seemed that Lisa was somewhat comfortable in the pool and spent some time with Cade in the pool every day! We did not get her to eat breakfast while she was here, but swimming was a big thing!

Of course movie night was shared popcorn on the couch and jumping on Kayla on the hammock!

This was a great day and Evan was especially happy to share it with all his relatives who were visiting!

A reason why you don’t let big kids use sticks with pinatas…
