Halloween at Montessori School in Progreso

Halloween fell on Wednesday this year and the kids were all very excited to receive a lot of candy. Of course they didn’t have school on this day, but had a school party instead and then had the next 4 days off to eat all the candy they got! November 1 and 2 are celebrated as the Days of the Dead here in Mexico and are really quite a big deal.

Debbie and the teachers at the school set up a giant bouncy house and games throughout the school yard. Bouncy house, fooseball, and yes, what play area could be complete with darts and balloons! Of course the popping balloons was the most popular attraction as Noah says: “they give me the most candy!” Great decorations in the school again.

There was a costume contest again this year… my boys didn’t win:( Evan wouldn’t wear his mask and Noah decided against face paint at the last minute. Next year we really must put in more effort in order to compete in the contest. Some of the costumes were really unbelievable with the detail in the make up. Desiree was amazing in her full make-up costume.
