Animaya with Grandma & Grandpa

We finally had the opportunity to visit Animaya in Merida with Grandma and Grandpa! Last year when we tried to go it was closed…it is always closed on Mondays! This year when Grandma and Grandpa visited us, we made sure to go on a day it was open.

Animaya is a fantastic place to go for a walk and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get some fresh air and have a nice walk in the Yucatan wilderness. It is not however, the best zoo as it does not have that many animals at this time. Still… One day Animaya will be a fantastic zoo and safari park but it is still growing. There are some more animals this time that we saw like the big cats, but it certainly does not have the animals that Centenario Parque in Merida has.

However, we had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa walking around the park and looking at the flowers and animals that they do have. Any time spent with family is time well spent and we certainly enjoyed it. There is much more shade from the young trees this year compared to our visits last year but cloudy days are perfect for this walk.
